FENSA
It is now a requirement for all replacement sash windows, casements and doors to meet improved insulation standards and a certificate must be issued by building control officers for every installation.
As there are up to 1.2 million new window installations per year, it is a daunting task for building control officers to check all installations. The FENSA scheme allows these officers to concentrate on new building work, whilst ensuring that installations comply with regulations.
A self-certifying scheme known as FENSA (Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme) for approved companies is designed to relieve the otherwise massive pressure on the resources of Building Control Departments.
As a FENSA approved installer, we certify the installation of your new timber sash windows, casements and doors - now required as part of your Home Information Pack, when selling your property.
This does away with the need for you to produce drawings for approval, and subsequently to be inspected for compliance by your local building control officers with the associated costs levied by your local Council.
